Daytime kidnapping on Sydney's northern beaches

Police were called to Aoyama Street in Manly on Sunday around 9:30 a.m. after reports of an attack.

According to a police statement, the perpetrators left the area in a Toyota Hilux.

When police tried to stop the car on Warringah Road in Forestville, the driver sped off and the chase began.

The police stopped the car using nails and found five men inside, one of whom was wounded and was taken to hospital and left after receiving treatment.

Four youths were arrested and taken to Manly Police Station.

Each was charged with a series of crimes including kidnapping, causing bodily harm and participating in a criminal group.

The four accused are due to appear at Manly Magistrates Court on Monday.
