Mountain Stream Retreat

Mountain Stream Retreat is a campground in Wilsons Creek, New South Wales. It is a green oasis fifteen minutes drive from Mullumbimby. The ocean is half an hour away. You can pitch your tent here on the nice soft grass under the ancient rainforest trees. The property has a mountain stream, pond and rainforest through a private waterfall. The place is fully equipped and costs $20 per person per night. They're also working on building tiny houses, so you might be able to spend the night there soon.

Brockle Farm

This place is also in New South Wales, in the Brocklet Hills behind Byron Bay to be exact. The place is loved by surfers, adventurers, foodies, and nature lovers. The place is very quiet and perfect for pitching your own tent. If you want to relax, go to the crystal clear creek which has a large swimming hole.

Rainforest hideaway

Really cool camping spot, this place is in the rainforest. The site is located just 4 km from the historic city of Bellingen on a property of 7 hectares. You can also camp there in your own tent, just 400 meters from the river. The river is perfect for a canoe trip, and it's also great for swimming. And you can also fish there. Then you grill your catch over the fire in the evening. Spend the night there ($35).

Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley is a great camping area in Queensland. There is camping in a still active macadamia grove on the Maroochy River, not far from Yandina. The site is a minimum of 11 hectares in size and the owners do everything they can to protect the local flora and fauna. Some terrains even consist of rainforests. It is the perfect place to really enjoy nature. Also around the site you will find a lot of nature with many wild animals. At The Grove, they do their best to be as organic, ecological and sustainable as possible, using natural composting and soil fertility methods. They aim to be semi-self-contained, but that doesn't detract from the comfort. You can use the shower, toilet and electricity there. Perfect place to pitch your tent or camper.

Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is also located in Queensland. There you can also pitch your own tent on the Maroochy River on the Sunshine Coast. In addition to a beautiful field in front of the tent, there is a hot shower, toilet and electricity as needed. You can use a kayak if you want to get out in the river. There you pay $15 a night. There is also a grill that you can use. Fun things to do nearby include mountain walks at Mount Ninderry, Coolum and Noosa beaches, the Yandina Ginger Factory and the Australia Zoo.
